New Beginnings

Well, hello again. I'M BACK! Sorry to have neglected the blog. I was sorting some things out and I've been monumentally busy with work and college. Summer is finally here thank God. I am taking a summer class and working but even that is more relaxed than this semester has been. Don't get me wrong I love my job, but it can get very stressful in the last month stretch. My friends will be glad to know that my writer's block has been lifted somewhat. I am really looking foward to this summer because Nydia and Vivian will be coming home. We're going to PARTY!!!!!! I am really psyched because I found some Hitchcock movies and speciafically the one I needed for my paper, as well as the books I needed. The book I am reading now is very interesting "Men, Women and Chainsaws," which is about how the audience is both victim and attacker while watching horror movies (specially in rape/ vengence movies). This of course made me think about Simone de Beauvoir's "The Second Sex," in which it says that the myth of the "Eternal Feminine" is at an odds with real women because it portrays us women in oppositions. Ex. The virgin vs. the slut. This just led to some other theorist, which I won't bore you with. This goes to show how INGL 5015: Literary Theory and Criticism makes you think until it hurts. And since there is nothing wrong with a little pain well..... You know I like it. LOL. (Stella stop saying "Oh, My," and blushing. You know I love you sweety.) This is all for now but I will be updating more frequently now that my brother is away in Purdue for the summer and I have no one to bug on a daily basis.
